Timesheets can be completed in HPS LightTouch™ in the conventional way (that is, entering legacy
data at the end of a month, for example), which can be problematic if a staff member has difficulty
remembering accurately what they have done.
In addition, HPS LightTouch™ allows a staff member to record time in one of two ways:
Immediately after a task has completed, by completing and saving a Timesheet Item form. In this form you may specify the name of the timesheet into which you
wish to enter this timsheet item, as in the diagram following:
Or you may leave the timesheet unspecified, creating an "Unattached item" which may be added to any (unsubmitted) timesheet:
Immediately prior to a task starting, by opening and completing a Task Timer form and
monitoring the time spent in real time as the task progresses. Once the task has completed,
the staff member must Stop the timer and Save the Timesheet item.
In both cases, the Timesheet Item created can be saved to a specific (un-submitted) timesheet, or
can be saved as an "unassigned timesheet item", allowing the staff member to save the item to a
timesheet at a later date.
